Last night we had a celebratory fire after taking down my senior show in Denton, TX. After hearing the city’s name some might think of Rocky Horror Picture show, some of Morrison’s Corn Kits, but some fewer of this hippie, frat boy, commuter college town infused po-dunk town’s mix of natural foods and cattle country. Denton, TX is the big city compared to its surrounding towns, so it follows that it has a small natural foods store that caters to college hippies, local health nuts and commuters from Dallas (us) that need a natural fix.

We make the best of trips to Denton by going to The Cupboard, the whole foods grocery store (not to be confused with the Piggly Wiggly, that is down the street). It has several vegan items we can’t get at Whole Foods Market, such as soft serve Peanut Butter Tofutti and, as we discovered last night, Sweet & Sara vegan Marshmallows. Say fluffy bunnies in a cruelty free way:

Man these things are good. They have to stay refrigerated so they aren’t as convenient for camping trips, unless you go in the winter. The vanilla ones toast great, and are gooey on the inside. I wouldn’t recommend the toasted coconut ones for the campfire, bu they are delicious to snack one.
